Forget what you thought you knew about being sexy. This season, hairy = sexy. That’s right, you read that correctly. Being hairy has never been hotter and if that isn’t strange enough, you gotta pay top dollar for hair that isn’t even your own!

Don’t get too excited and forego shaving your pits or anything. Hair is in but only as an accessory. Whether it be earrings, pins or wraps the emerging trend is to have them made out of hair – human hair. Much like buying extensions, hair accessories get more costly with better quality hair and Jules Kim (pictured above), founder of Bijules know this very well.

A pair of Bijules “hairrings” will run you well over $100 and likely over $200. That’s a lot of money to rock someone else’s locks! They also offer up ‘hairballs,’ a sort of makeshift bun to pin into your hair, ‘hairpins,’ which are just a bundle of hair you clip to your top like a brooch and ‘hairwraps,’ which are essentially a human hair scarf.

Personally, I don’t really get it and I’m sort of creeped out by the whole idea but fashionistas set the trends around here and they’re going hairy. If the concept really takes off, you can expect to see a larger variety of synthetic products pop up but for now, the real deal isn’t cheap by any means.
